Epicfest: The Flight of the Monarch
The City of Grand Prairie’s first Monarch festival, on September 21 and 22, celebrates nature, community culture and arts. The family-friendly event features three butterfly releases at noon, 2:00 and 4:00 on both Friday and Saturday when the butterflies will take their first flight. Children’s festivities include arts and crafts, many featuring the life cycle and migration of the Monarch butterfly. The featured bands, AB Quintanilla y Los Kumbia Kings Allstarz and Sister Hazel will take the main stage. Other live musical entertainment featured throughout the festival include the Tejas Brothers, Monica Saldivar, Cleghorn, Bird Dogs and Petty Theft. Epicfest is located at 2960 Epic Place (formerly known as Grand Central), the Grand Lawn Amphitheater and surrounding facilities. Western Days in Lewisville
Western Days is a fun event for the whole family. There will be a mechanical bull, pony rides, the Hot Diggity Dog Hoe Down Dog Show and the Wild & Free art exhibit. Headlining on the main stage are the Randy Rogers Band (Friday) and Gary Allen (Saturday). Other performers include Holly Tucker, Southern Brave, Kody West, Tyler Marco, Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights, along with many more talented artists. Festival-goers can also see Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers impersonators! The new Witherspoon Distillery outdoor stage will be broken in by the Hightower Band, Def Leggend, Justin Tipton and Greg Schroeder. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday, September 28, and 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 29. Admission is free with a ticket before 7 p.m. both days. G Texas Catering is the exclusive bar caterer at Epicfest: The Flight of the Monarch. We will have a total of six bars throughout the facility. Each bar will provide Community Mosaic and Dallas Blonde and Deep Ellum IPA from the Deep Ellum Brewing Co. as the featured beers. We are excited to partner with the festivals wine sponsor, Josh Cellars. Our bar catering team will be serving Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Rose and Sauvignon Blanc.
G Texas Catering is the exclusive bar caterer at Western Days. We will have a total of five bars with a sixth bar transformed into a Craft Brew House. G Texas Catering is partnering with Bud Light and local Lewisville hotspot, Old Town Brewhouse, to serve their house-made beers. The Craft Brew House will serve a selection of craft brews such as Wild Acre Billy Jenkin Boch, Real Ale Double Dry Hop IPA, Karbach Love Street, Franconia Oktoberfest, Kona Longboard, Community Texas Lager, Dallas Blonde and Deep Ellum IPA.
